Checking your land boundaries no longer means making repeated trips to the revenue office. BhuNaksha is a cadastral mapping solution developed by the National Informatics Centre, and in Andhra Pradesh it works alongside the Meebhoomi portal, so landowners can see their plots as geo-referenced parcels on a digital map. In this guide, you will learn what the portal offers and how to view your land map step by step.
What is Bhunaksha AP?
Bhu Naksha AP is an online land map service that helps users check their land map, cadastral map, village map and plot details using a survey number. It is maintained by the Revenue Department of Andhra Pradesh and brings paper-based land records into one searchable digital platform. This makes it useful for farmers, property buyers, bankers and anyone who wants to verify land details without visiting government offices again and again.
What documents can you access?
The portal is mainly used to view the cadastral map, which is the digital map of a whole village, and the FMB, or Field Measurement Book. The FMB is the most important sketch for a landowner, as it holds the exact measurements of a specific survey number. Other records such as 1-B, Adangal, village maps and passbook details can be accessed through the Meebhoomi AP portal.
What you need before you start
You usually need your district, mandal, village, land type and survey number. If you do not know the survey number, you can find it in your 1-B, Adangal, passbook or old land documents.
How to check your land map
Open the portal at bhunaksha.ap.gov.in, then select your district, mandal and village from the left side. You can either click on the map or type your survey number to find your plot. Once your plot is selected, click the “Map Report” button. This generates a document that shows your land along with all the neighbouring survey numbers around it. You can then download or print the PDF if the option is available on the portal.
Common problems and limits
If the portal says “Data Not Found”, it means the map for your land has not been digitised yet. In that case, visit the Tahsildar office or apply at a MeeSeva centre for a manual copy. Also keep in mind that the online copy is not valid for court cases, where you need a certified copy with an official signature and stamp from the Revenue Department.
Why it matters
Clear land records are important when applying for a home loan, since banks require proof of ownership and verified property details. Checking your map beforehand helps you spot problems early, avoid boundary disputes, and move faster on a purchase or loan.
